Go wild and save animals this spring at the Houston Zoo

FULL SHOW: Watch the spring break edition of ‘Houston Life’ at the Houston Zoo

HoustonHouston Life visited one of our favorite places this week, the Houston Zoo! Watch all the wild fun in the video above.

In the jam-packed show, Mel Camp met a couple of hungry Masai giraffes and learned all about our animal friends including the zoo’s youngest residents.

Then, Tessa took on the Galápagos Exhibit. Love is in the air for the penguin colony, she learned how the keepers deal with the chaotic dating lives of these fun birds.

Derrick also met the talented veterinarian team caring for animals at the zoo and how their efforts help animals in the wild.

Lauren got into some pre-historic fun at the TXU presents ‘Dinosaurs’ exhibit that roars into the zoo on March 8.

And, did you know you can play a big role in the bird migration in our area? The Bird Migration Dashboard tells you exactly how many birds flew over you last night and where they’re headed. Ben Jones, the zoo’s vice president of conservation and education, taught Derrick and Tessa about how to keep these migrating birds safe on their journey.

And checkout how much fun it is at the Children’s Zoo where you can get up close and touch cute animals at the petting zoo!
