KPRC 2′s gift wrapping battle: Are we dropping bars or bows? 🎙️🎁

HOUSTON – Wrapping gifts... you either absolutely love it or you absolutely hate it.

Some people go all out, buying a plethora of ribbons and bows personalized to the one receiving the gift. Others prefer to just put the gift underneath the tree in its original box.

To put our gift-wrapping skills to the test, KPRC 2 anchors Zach Lashway and Haley Hernandez had a ‘Wrap Battle’ on KPRC 2+ Now at 8am ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Now, I know what you’re thinking but no -- unfortunately, the duo did not drop any verses or get in a music studio for this one.

BUT, over in our Studio B, they battled head-to-head to see who could wrap the prettiest present the quickest.

“I’m doing this with so much love, and creativity. They’ll never want to unwrap this,” Hernandez said.

“I don’t find this therapeutic AT ALL,” Lashway jokingly said. “I actually find this a LITTLE stressful.”

Now, if you don’t want to end up like us🤣 Check out these tips from an expert wrapper:

1. Determine the amount of paper you need for your item by either measuring all four sides of your package or by visually estimating the size

2. Cut the paper to the desired length, place the package in the center of the paper, and trim the end width of the paper to fit the package

3. Fold the paper over to meet in the center of the back of the package

4. Tape down with double-sided tape or clear tape

5. V fold edges of paper inward on both ends, ensure seams are straight

6. Fold flaps inward and seal with tape

7. Paper should fit around the package with no tears, if using directional paper make sure the pattern is straight

8. Measure the ribbon to fit and tie a bow or attach a ready-made bow and gift tag
