9 people injured when elderly driver mistakenly slams into restaurant in Jersey Village

Nine people were injured in a Jersey Village restaurant after a vehicle slammed through the building.

The collision occurred around 12:20 p.m. at Little Kitchen HTX, as several families ate in the restaurant.

One woman was taken to the hospital by life flight, but she is expected to survive. Of the other eight occupants who were injured, three were transported by ambulance, and the other five were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Authorities say the 76-year-old driver believed she was pressing the brake pedal and accidentally stepped on the gas, leading to the crash. She showed no signs of intoxication, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
