HOUSTON – The MLB deadline for teams and players to trade arbitration figures passed at noon, Thursday, with the Houston Astros needing to reach settlements with seven players, or to go to arbitration.

The Astros have reached settlements with Urquidy, McCormick, Abreu and Garcia, Tucker and Valdez. Mauricio Dubon is expected to go to arbitration.

9:17 p.m.: Mauricio Dubon and the Astros are headed to arbitration. Dubon has filed for a $3.5 million salary in 2024, the Astros have filed for Dubon to receive a $3 million salary in 2024, a league source tells KPRC 2.
Jose Urquidy will receive $3.75 million in 2024, league sources tell KPRC 2.
Chas McCormick will receive $2.85 million in 2024, league sources tell KPRC 2.
Luis Garcia will receive $1.875 million in 2024, per league source, as first reported by KPRC 2.
Bryan Abreu will receive $1.75 million in 2024, per league source, as first reported by KPRC 2.
In 2023, the Astros ended up at arbitration with outfielder Kyle Tucker and starting pitcher Cristian Javier. The Astros reached a contract extension with Javier before the hearing, paying him $64 million over a five-year contract. Tucker and the Astros went to arbitration with Houston winning, paying Tucker $5 million in 2023. Tucker asked for $7.5 million.
