Accused drunk driver arrested after woman fatally struck near Uptown, police say
HOUSTON โ A woman accused of driving while intoxicated is in custody after a deadly accident Friday, police said. Police said the victim, a woman, was crossing Westheimer near Stoney Brook just after 1 a.m. when she was hit. The victim, who investigators said was not in a crosswalk area, died at the scene. โTiger Kingโ star Dillon Passage, 25, was arrested for DWI in addition to an outstanding warrant for resisting arrest in Manor, Texas, Fox 7 Austin reports. Passage, who is the husband of Joe Exotic, was arrested and taken to the Travis County Jail on November 15, according to the report. Passage underwent a field sobriety test which results determined the driver was intoxicated, according to the report. Passage was arrested for DWI in addition to an outstanding warrant for resisting arrest. Fox 7 reports he is being held on a $3,000 bond.
HCSO deputy accused of speeding over 120 mph while drunk on Katy Freeway, police say
KATY, Texas โ A Harris County Sheriffโs deputy is accused of speeding over 120 mph while intoxicated on Katy Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department. Deputy Jose Garcia was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was pulled over in the 9800 block of Katy Freeway. According to police, an officer spotted a Tahoe traveling 121 mph in a 60 mph zone. When the officer pulled in behind the Tahoe, the vehicle was clocked at 110 mph in the 60 mph speed zone, police said. When the officer pulled Garcia over, he was described to have bloodshot eyes, smelling of alcoholic beverages.
Houston police cruiser catches fire, flips during chase
HOUSTON โ A Houston police cruiser caught fire and flipped early Friday morning during a chase on the cityโs east side. Bruce said the officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away and the officer gave chase. Bruce said about three minutes into the chase, the officerโs cruiser hit a pothole and caught fire. The officer lost control of the cruiser, and the vehicle flipped onto its side, Bruce said. Bruce said the driver that prompted the chase is still being sought.
